A new dwelling constructed on a small lot in West Vancouver.

Problem Statement

To provide a landscape serving as a play space for the children, outdoor entertaining and garden plots using sustainable design principles within a 135’by 60’ lot.

Design Solution

The design creates change in grade to establish a dry creek bed. The creek bed was used to divide the space in the rear yard and is a play feature. This creates zones for entertaining, play and gardening in the rear yard. The plant materials are predominately native species requiring little maintenance and the wood is untreated eliminating the use of harmful toxins.
