Site

The existing site had a natural character to the north and opened up onto the Burrard Inlet with an existing seawall. The existing dwelling was demolished to make way for this contemporary house with Mediterranean infl uences.

Problem Statement

To create usable outdoor spaces adjacent to the dwellings that relate to the character of the site. These spaces must be accessible and flow into each other.

Design Solution

Three distinct zones were created on the property. The character of these zones are: natural in the northern zone, contemporary Mediterranean around the dwelling and seaside along the waterfront with open views to Vancouver across the water.
