The dwelling is situated on a large bluff in West Vancouver. The house is approximately 165 ft above the shoreline.

Problem Statement

The existing dwelling is cut off from the ocean on this large waterfront property. The client came to us to design a route down to the shoreline, with a pool terrace at the bottom of the existing deck.

Design Solution

Following a thorough analysis of the existing site conditions, the pool terrace was designed to be located on the flattest ground available on the site.An exterior stairway was designed to work with the existing grades coming off of the deck. The landings will be anchored to the rock face with steel stringers suspended between the landings. The staircase is approximately 40’ in elevation.
